What You Do Today Determines How Monday Starts
Let's get something straight:
Friday isn't a wrap-up day.
It's setup day.
Too many crews treat Friday like a finish line.
Punch out, power down, disappear.
But the best field teams?
They treat Friday like a launch pad.
At GRPM, we teach our clients one simple rule:
Don't wait for Monday to figure it out. Use Friday to make it obvious.
Here's your end-of-week Field Leader's Checklist to set up a clean, clear start next week:
1. Prep Your 4-Week Lookahead
Are next week's activities locked in?
Are long-lead items confirmed?
Are there any conflicts between trades?
Your Monday morning problems are already visible if you're looking.
2. Walk the Site Before You Clock Out
Is the site clean, safe, and ready?
Are materials staged for Monday's first crew?
Is equipment charged, serviced, and secure?
3. Confirm with Subs & Suppliers
Did everyone get the memo?
Are your deliveries scheduled and reconfirmed?
Who's missing from next week's flow?
4. Update the Whiteboard or Field Dashboard
Let the team walk in Monday knowing what's happening.
No surprises. No scramble.
5. Send a Quick Friday Field Note
Even if it's just a 2-line text or email:
"Next week's focus is X. Monday, we're hitting the ground running. Check your tasks."
You set the tone. You lead the rhythm.
Let the crew know: We don't coast. We orchestrate.
The Payoff?
Fewer Monday morning fire drills
More trust from clients
A field team that operates like a unit, not a group of freelancers
Don't lead from behind.
Lead with foresight.
